The Career Edge Organization has used Haven Knowledge Systems (HKS) to develop and host our website and related computer systems for more than two years. In this time, HKS has become an integral partner in our growing, not-for-profit business.
Thanks to the HKS team, Career Edge has developed into an award-winning e-business operation, recognized by the 2002 Canadian e-Business Leadership Award Career Edge received in the business-to-business service category. The vast majority of our on-going customer service and revenue-producing business processes are now handled through the website, which HKS created and maintains. These processes include an automatic e-mail system that HKS designed so we can daily communicate with and provide updates to our customers - interns, corporate recruiters and mentors.
The Career Edge Organization operates three paid internship programs that serve a wide range of customers - from Canada's largest corporations to the individual graduates who are working as interns. Since partnering with HKS, our business has more than doubled. In 2004, we set up more than 600 internships across Canada, generating business worth about $10 million. This magnitude of business would be impossible for our small organization (10 full-time staff and four interns) to handle without the efficient website and related services created and administered by HKS.
Our website now handles more than one million hits monthly, includes a current talent pool of more than 10,000 potential intern candidates (an active, searchable database complete with intern resumes and personal information) and is used by hundreds of recruiters. It is continuously operating. We have never experienced unscheduled downtime.
